Hi everyone, It’s me again, Frederique! Back with a new blogpost from Sydney! Monday night we went to Bondi Beach for Cathy’s (Alyssa’s mom) birthday. Yes, for real we went to Bondi Beach! If you don’t know what Bondi Beach is then one; you probably don’t know what Pinterest is either (shame on you)! And two; you most surely wonder, “Frederique why repeat two times that you went to this beach? What's so special about it?” Visiting this beach has been on my Bucketlist for three years now and I still can’t believe I have visited it! It even made me wonder if I wasn’t dreaming up the entire exchange program in Australia. I’m not even kidding; While we were eating diner at Bondi, I pinched myself in the arm to check if my life was not a dream. If at this point you’re still wondering why Bondi Beach is so special to me, I will explain that to you now. Bondi Beach is one trendiest beaches on Earth. It has a pool and not just any pool; the Iceberg pool! This pool is one of the most in...

This is What an It-Girl from Down Under wears

Hi everyone, How are you guys doing? Today I am back with a brand new blogpost! My blog name derives from the series "Sex and the City" for a reason: Both the characters from "Sex and the City" as well as the Aussies have a really good sense of style! That’s why today’s post is dedicated to the Australian fashion style. Monday we went shopping in Sydney. I was thrilled to finally see all the clothing pieces I had already seen on Australian webstores in real life now. While I was shopping, I created a list in my head of the different items, colours, materials, styles and prints that define the Australian fashion style. I honestly love the aussie style so much! Especially low budget stores that in price are comparable to Zara and H&M are way cooler here! So do you want to know how to dress like a real fashionista from down under? Than read on! Sporty Just like their lifestyle, their style is easygoing and comfortable. Shorts made out of sweatpants material...

Manly Beach, the Vibe is GREAT!

Hi everyone, I have arrived in Sydney! Everything is going really well so far. When we arrived in Sydney we were picked up by our exchange sister Alyssa, her family and the exchange coordinator, Mrs White. Alyssa’s house is so pretty and has a cool beach vibe. Phoebe and I have our own little house in the garden. Sounds like I am living a dream life right? I am! The Australians are currently having their summer holidays and thus Alyssa, Phoebe and I are doing a lot of fun and cultural things! One of the fun things we did so far was visiting Manly beach. The nature was beautiful! The water had this gorgeous turquoise colour and was surrounded by rocks which we climbed. Trees and plants were bordered around the sand. There were two different beaches at Manly beach; the surfing beach and the snorkling beach. We swam at the snorkling beach. Although the beach was vividly very pleasing, it was something else that appealed to me the most and this had nothing to do with what I s...

How to survive a 24-hour Plane Flight

Dear family member, bestie, fellow classmate, neighbour, teacher, random stranger who has come across this page by accident after surfing om the internet for five hours, Welcome to my blog! Welcome to Sex and the Sydney! My blog as a Dutch exchange student in Australia! Today’s post is a guide on how to survive a 24 hours plane flight. When I told people I was going on exchange to Australia, their first reaction was, “AWESOME!” Their second reaction was, “Well Frederique, the plane flight is pretty exhausting you know”. I completely agreed with their first reaction and I completely ignored their second one since I love airplane flights. The main character of my favourite book once said, “Everyone is always busy and the world never stops except for when you’re on an airplane, then there is nothing you can do to influence a situation, it’s like the pause button of your life.” And I really agreed with that because whatever disaster is happening right underneath you, you won’t notice si...
