Manly Beach, the Vibe is GREAT!


Hi everyone,

I have arrived in Sydney! Everything is going really well so far. When we arrived in Sydney we were picked up by our exchange sister Alyssa, her family and the exchange coordinator, Mrs White. Alyssa’s house is so pretty and has a cool beach vibe. Phoebe and I have our own little house in the garden. Sounds like I am living a dream life right? I am! The Australians are currently having their summer holidays and thus Alyssa, Phoebe and I are doing a lot of fun and cultural things!


One of the fun things we did so far was visiting Manly beach. The nature was beautiful! The water had this gorgeous turquoise colour and was surrounded by rocks which we climbed. Trees and plants were bordered around the sand. There were two different beaches at Manly beach; the surfing beach and the snorkling beach. We swam at the snorkling beach.



Although the beach was vividly very pleasing, it was something else that appealed to me the most and this had nothing to do with what I saw, heard, tasted, felt or smelled. It was my sixth sense doing the work; it detected the great vibe at Manly beach, because man oh man ;-) the VIBE WAS GREAT! Everywhere we walked there were beach cafés, surf dudes, cool clothing stores, market stalls, families with cute kids and people swimming. The thing these people and things all had in common was; they were easygoing. Everything here is easygoing.


I am going to be honest with you; I am not be the chillest person in the universe. Actually, I‘m stressed out often. However, since I have arrived in Sydney I have experienced no stress at all. Off course, this has to do with my school life. But apart from that, little things in my daily life also matter less to me. Instead of coming up with three solutions to a problem within 5 seconds, I approach everything with a “things will work out anyways” attitude. It really calms my soul. I don’t know I probably sound like a yoga teacher who drinks ginger tea all day (nothing wrong with that) right know. Take in account that I am that (annoying) person in your friend group who firmly believes in the law of attraction, karma and positive energy.

Walking over the Sydney Harbour Bridge & the Art Gallery of NSW

Hi everyone,  In my blogpost before I talked about the fun excursions with Mrs White and today I want to tell you about one of them.  On Thursday the 7 th of February we had an amazing day! We started the day at school in library. Mrs White, two Japanese exchange students, Phoebe and I gathered together in the library. We were going to the Art Gallery of New South Wales. To prepare ourselves, Mrs White thought it might be a nice idea to look at some famous Australian artists and their paintings so we looked at some art books.  After we had had a look in the library we travelled by train to the city. When we arrived, we walked for a little while through one of the oldest parts of Sydney and then we arrived at Millers Point. Apparently, some scenes of the Australian show “Dance Academy” have been recorded at this place and a lot of weddings are held here. The Boarding-House

Hi everyone,  How are you guys doing? I am doing fine! Well…I have had a sore throat and an ugly cough for more than two weeks now, so that’s not super-duper chill… but hey I am experiencing a typical Australian illness, another exchange experience right? ;-) Today I want to talk about the boarding-house with you. Since Wednesday the 30 th of January I am attending boarding-house of PLC (the school) instead of staying with a host family. I love the boarding-house! Here are a few things I really like about my boarding life.  The girls The first thing that is definitely my favourite of all things is living with so many amazing girls. They are true angels. They are all so nice to me. They call me Freddie, some even Frankie (not sure if I’m too happy with that, but they say I look like a Frankie so I just let it be hahaha) and seriously they help Freddie out with a lot of stuff.
